Rafael Frias, MD
Primary Care Physician at Montefiore Bronx Health Collective
Rafael Frias, MD provides full spectrum primary care at Montefiore Bronx Health Collective. He also serves special patient populations including expectant mothers, patients living with HIV, homeless families, and asylees through the medical-legal partnership, Terra Firma. He is the physician lead for a clinic-wide quality improvement (QI) project to address and combat physician burnout. As the assistant director of the peer health program South Bronx Community Health Leaders (SBxCHL), he supports minority pre-health individuals through their journey to various healthcare professions.
Dr. Frias earned his BA in Chemistry with a minor in Latino Studies at Williams College. He completed his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He decided to stay in the Bronx to complete his Family Medicine residency (where he also served as Chief Resident) through the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center.
