Mia Stange, Esq.
Program Consultant
Mia Stange is a Staff Attorney and Skadden Fellow at Brooklyn Defender Services, where she represents noncitizen clients in the organization's immigration and employment practices. Prior to law school, she worked at Terra Firma's Flagship program for seven years. In this role, she managed partnerships, grants, and clinical workflows. Mia holds a B.A. in public health from Brown University, a M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University, where she was a Bloomberg Fellow in American Health, and a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law. She is the co-author, with Brett Stark, of “The ethical and public health implications of family separation,” Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics (2019). Mia believes that health is a human right, that no human is illegal, and that effective, trauma-informed legal services are themselves a health intervention.
