In November 2019, Terra Firma participant Miguel G. Mejia was featured in the New York Times' Neediest Cases. In an interview with the New York Times, he details his journey to safety from Honduras to the United States, and speaks of the relief he found in soccer as he adjusted to a new environment. Terra Firma's services helped Miguel apply for a green card, which would allow him the opportunity to continue his education. As an aspiring sports journalist, Miguel aims to finish a degree in media studies and eventually help support his family back in Honduras.

Terra Firma is the original direct service program, providing integrated medical, mental health, and legal services to immigrant children and families through the Terra Firma Model in Bronx, New York.

Terra Firma National is a separate nonprofit organization dedicated to replicating and advancing the Terra Firma Model across the country.
